Serving in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in northern Michigan in the 1980’s, I received my first recurve bow. I was offered to trade a recurve bow for a flying lesson, I agreed. At the time I didn’t know just how much of a blessing the trade would turn out to be. That bow is long gone now, but the passion has not dwindled. Since, I’ve had the privilege to bow hunt in Michigan, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Virginia and Colorado.
I have the privilege of being a contributing author to Jay Houston's second book, Elk Hunting 201. I've also had the privilege of speaking to church's, retreats, community events and seminars such as Bass Pro Shops in Devner Colorado.
As a former Pastor, it was a natural fit to accept the position as the director of an outdoor/hunting ministry - High Country Ministries. The parallels of archery and life provide wonderful insights for living. The desire to see others grow drove me to become an NAA certified instructor and I can be found at our local shop, Bill Pellegrino's Archery Hut in Colorado Springs, promoting the Sport of archery and bowhunting while instructing students on proper shooting form and giving out advice on proven hunting secrets and techniques.
I also own Rocky Mountain Web Designs – a web development company located in Colorado Springs, CO. providing hunters with an avenue to keep their fans and sponsors up to date. This has proved to be a valuable asset for Marc Smith at Wild Country Outdoors.
I’m nearing completion of my book entitled Bowhunt the Backcountry which covers everything from shooting form, shoot process, broadhead tuning, GPS navigation, sleeping bag selection and much more.
As for recent tournaments
I have a wonderful wife, Shasta, and 4 fantastic children – Angie – 23, Ken – 21 (quite an accomplished archer) and our twins, Jake and Kylie – 2 years old. We reside in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A special thanks to my sponsors: Bear Archery, Trophy Ridge, Gold Tip, Rocket Broadheads, Carter Enterprises and Winner's Choice Strings..
